FAQs

Here are some commonly asked questions about my service, if you have any questions which are not answered below please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?

This is an important question, and finding the right therapist can sometimes feel like a challenge. To help make the process easier, I offer an initial telephone conversation where we can get to know one another and to help break the ice a little. This way, we can see if we’re a good fit for each other and helps to make you feel at ease. If the call feels right, we can go ahead and schedule an initial session.

Do you work online or in-person?

I offer both in person sessions from my home in Islington and online via the zoom platform.

What are your qualifications?

I am a Registered Member of the BACP a professional supporting body for Counsellors and Psychotherapists

Part of my training involved working within an LGBTQ+ counselling service

10 years experience in addiction & recovery support

What happens if I can’t make a session?

Any unplanned cancellations will be charged at the full session fee if cancelled within 48 hours prior to the scheduled session.

How long will I need to be in therapy?

How long will I need to be in therapy is a common question, but the answer can vary for each individual. The duration of therapy depends on many factors, including the nature of what is bought to therapy and how you feel you are progressing. I regularly check in with you about the focus of our sessions and how long you would like to continue. I don’t believe in keeping anyone in therapy longer than they need or want to be.

What happen during my first session?

During our first session, we can identify and navigate your needs for therapy, discuss a focus for “the work” talk about your aspirations, tailoring an approach to best meet your needs and of course answer any questions you may have. I am committed to fostering a safe and relaxed environment where you can explore your inner world.
